Who we are

GMAC-RFC operates within several different countries and is part of the international financial services group, GMAC Financial Services which was established in 1919.

In the UK, GMAC-RFC entered the mortgage market in 1998, distributing its mortgage products only via qualified mortgage intermediaries. The company grew rapidly through innovation across its products, technology and service propositions. Based on 2007 figures from the Council of Mortgage Lenders, GMAC-RFC was the 11th largest lender in the UK.

GMAC-RFC has built a strong reputation in the UK and has been awarded many awards. It also received the accolade of being one of The Times Top 100 Employers for the 3rd year running.

In response to the global financial markets, during 2008 GMAC-RFC took the strategic decision to cease providing mortgage products to new customers and instead focus on existing customers. It took a new direction and is currently an International Mortgage Asset Management Company, responsible for managing over £16bn of mortgage assets across four servicing platforms in the UK, Netherlands, Germany and Spain.
